I'm still in United Student Ministries. I am currently a full-time volunteer for the Youth Pastor of the Champion Center. I love it, but IT'S HARD WORK.
Seriously, who knew so much details goes inside ministry? Honestly, we WORK HARD not only to allow people to feel welcomed--but of course, the Holy Spirit. Just like our bodies are temples...so is the actual church building. So we must take care of these things in order for Christ to feel welcomed...AND we all must work together in peace (and let me just tell you...that's not so easy sometimes), but in Matthew 12:25 it says, "a house divided against itself will not stand." -(amen.)
Today was probably a big day of growth for me. *Mind you, I've been a full-time "volunteer"/intern since January 5th 2010. So, its only been seven weeks. But I've learned, grown, and worked SO SO SOoOooo much. More than ever.
Basically, I've learned that to be a great leader--we must inspire.
Christ never lead by manipulation, but through inspiration. He was a leader dressed in servant's clothing. He lead by serving others. He worked hard AND all His strength came from God and his purpose was clear by loving God.
When we take things personally in ministry we miss opportunities to connect and build relationships with people who need Christ. Remember, no matter what we do in life...
"Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and your plans will succeed." (Proverbs 16:3 NIV)
Likewise, remember when you work hard...You're there for Christ. Stop trying to constantly please people. It'll be easy to work and it'll be less stressful when you wake up making a decision to LIVE for Jesus instead of trying to solve ways to make everybody happy.
"Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ." (Galatians 1:10) *one of my favorite verses in the Bible<3 Well guys, hope you enjoyed the update. I'll do my best to do this more often. Love you and God bless.

"Today I lost a pawn, but gained a queen." -C
